How to Restore a Previous Version of a File
If you're like me, you've accidentally deleted or corrupted a file and did not have a good version of that particular document. In Windows Vista, you can now restore a previous version of a file.
To accomplish the steps neccessary to restore a file to an earlier state:
- Open the folder that contains the file you want to restore
- Right-click your mouse button on the file.
- Click Restore previous versions.
Windows Vista displays the file's Properties dialog box and the Previous Versions tab. The versions list displays the previous versions of that file.
- Click a previous version
- Click Restore.
