Pin an Shortcut to Your Start Menu in Windows Vista

The items in the start menu provide a easy way to launch programs you frequently use without having to click All Programs and then negotiate one more submenus. A neat alternative to cluttering your desktop area is to pin an item to the start menu.

To pin an item in Windows Vista:

  1. Click Start
  2. Click All Programs
  3. Find the program you want to pin
  4. Right-click your mouse button on the program icon.
  5. Click Pin to Start menu

Windows Vista adds the program to the main Start menu.
