The Holidays
I have been asking people why the holidays are so stressful.  Many have responded by saying that it is because of the fact that everybody wants your money, and they don't care how they get it, whether that puts you out on the street or not.  I question people's motives on why they are so greedy during those times of the year.  My mother said that they have to make a living too.  I got to thinking, she is absolutely right.  I can be that way, which means it our flesh crying out to survive.  Everyone seems to be in the survival mode rather than the trusting in God mode.  Wouldn't you agree?  Where does God fit in this mix?  He fits in quite well.  Man has to put to death the things of this world, which includes money, and trust that God will provide.  I know this sounds difficult, but it can be done.  One way is through prayer.  Prayer is powerful, and it changes lives.  Second, he or she can give ten percent of his or her income to the church, which if you ask me is not much, and is quite doable.  Third, an individual can help others by going to food pantries and assisting other local ministries.  I believe that people need to change their perception on the things of the world and focus on God as we see throughout all of the Bible.  Wouldn't you agree?
