A Once and Future Christmas
The Druid's Grove ~ Thought of the Day
"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own.
And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go."

A Once and Future Christmas |
So, Christmas has come and gone. Oh the lights and tree may stay up for a couple more weeks, but over-all the after Christmas sales have started, and the world will soon be back to where it was before Christmas – and that is something we MUST guard against. Christmas cannot live only once a year. The spirit of Christmas (which I’m speaking of) needs to be carried on even after the lights and trees come down.
What’s the spirit of Christmas? I think the song say’s it; Peace on Earth, and goodwill toward men (and women of course). Christmas is a season of giving, and of hope. Christmas will never go away. I think it’s proven itself over the last 2000 years. But it certainly would serve the world so much better if the spirit of Christmas could be felt for more than two or three weeks in the middle of winter.
I propose that we celebrate a Christmas at least once a quarter. 4 Christmas’ every year, now wouldn’t that be something. Keeping peace and goodwill alive all year long wouldn’t that feel great. Can you imagine a family gathering in the middle of summer where everyone gets together around a great big bon fire for corn on the cob and watermelon?! I can imagine it. Exchanging gifts and love… we’d have to have the Beach Boys write some new Christmas songs!
So this year, what the heck! – LEAVE THE LIGHTS UP!
