It’s interesting the way things work sometimes. This morning when I was reading my email, I read not one, but TWO emails on how it is the small things in life that can really make the difference. Basically I was being reminded that the smallest loosening of a pebble can ultimately cause an avalanche! So here I am, after reading to very small emails, talking about the power of small actions, and who knows how many of you will now be inspired to talk about or be more aware of your small actions reaching out and touching others… then they reach out… and before we know it we have an avalanche of people reaching out, because Richard read two little emails this morning.
Mother Teresa wrote; “ We can do no great things, only small things with great love.” I think that is true. Any great thing that we try to do never happens overnight. It always comes to fruition over time, and in that time it is the little things that will bring greatness about. The more love we give to these little things the greater the results will be. Michelangelo did not paint the Sistine Chapel one Saturday afternoon, and when he did, I’m sure he did not approach the project as just another paycheck; no, the hand of God was painted with love. Do you have children? Our children are not created on some rainy day just because we are lonely or bored. No, we courted our partner, loved them, developed a relationship over time, and one day a miracle happened.
So, become aware of your little things. There are 31,536,000 seconds in a year. Now you might be asleep give or take 10,512,000 seconds, but that leaves you with 21,024,000 waking seconds to be aware. Every waking second of your day holds the potential and possibility for you to think, say or do some small thing blessed with love. That’s A LOT of little things! No wonder you’re going to start an avalanche today!
Bright blessings ~ Richard |
