Thought of the day

There are many thoughts we have easily over 40,000 a day. I just want to add one more.

All work and no play makes Jake (and Jane) dull.

Anger and intolerance are the enemies of correct understanding.

All work and no play mades Jack (and Jane) dull!

Can you still play? Do you remember what playing was like? The freedom the creativity involved? So many of us have forgotten, and we certainly don’t make time to play. Even if we have children we may take the kids to the park, but do you play with them or do you sit at the table working on something else. While your children are busy swinging or building sand castles are reading your text book on child psychology? Talk about ironic!

I understand the busy adult life; there are obligations and responsibilities to be met. No one said however that you had to stop playing. Two things happen when we play. The first is it starts the creative juices flowing. And next, and most importantly, it brings joy into our hearts. You will find that when you play you have more energy. You are pulled forward with the actions of play. When we play we are lifted up from the burden of obligations and responsibility for a brief time and allowed to feel what it is like to be human again. It is a chance to walk (or run joyfully) in love.

I saw this video on youtube about this guy that was giving out free hugs at the mall. He walked around with a big sign that read, “Free Hugs”… and he was doing exactly that. Now that’s what I call playing! The game I like to play at the mall is, “Find the spy”. Walk around the mall with a friend watching people. When you find someone that looks to be a suitable spy… you know the dark figure walking with a paper jammed under his arm… the woman pushing a baby carriage with no baby in it, etc… when you see them, go up to them and give them the code; “the moon is made of green cheese”. Of course the code can be anything you want. IF the spy replies (with anything other than a look of, “get this crazy person away from me”) you get a point. Switch back and forth with your friends; first to 5 points wins! Bring some joy into your life!

Now go have some fun!

Bright blessings ~ Richard

Don't forget to take a look at my book too!

Can someone please tell me why my life sucks?!

Its a little book packed full of perspective to help you stay on course - it's better than a compass!
