How much starch?
Have you ever really noticed that life carries its own form of momentum? We’ve all heard the saying, “A rolling stone gathers no moss”. What does that mean to you? How about this one; “Time flies when you’re having fun”?
The
one about time flying, I think we can all relate to, because we are so
often experiencing at least a little bit of disappointment with that
one (and for some reason we remember those moments easier than the
happier ones). It certainly is true though isn’t it? Think about a time when you were love. It was so easy to stay up all night talking with your lover. You’d fall asleep around 4 am… and the alarm would buzz you awake at 6, and yet – somehow you had the energy to carry on! Think about the time at work when you were asked to work on a very interesting and ‘fun’ project. You were able to hunker down into it, and before you knew it – you missed your break!
This is life’s momentum. And you will not gather ‘moss’ to you when you are in it. How do you get into life’s momentum? Easy – do the things you love to do. “Ohhhhh
wait a minute!”, you say, “I don’t always get to pick what I do, nor do
I love everything I have to do – for example, I HATE ironing, but if I
want my shirts to look good I have to do it”. Well, my perspective is you’ve made several choices here. First you have to have pressed shirts in order to look good. Next, in order to have them pressed you have to iron them (couldn’t you send them out?). And then you even made the choice to hate ironing for some reason. When
in fact you should LOVE ironing, because it is saving you a load of
cash at the cleaners, you get them just the way you like them, AND in the end you look fantastic! If I had made those choices my ironing would be done in no time and I would know the joy of ironing. When you are experiencing life through love, the energy comes to you and life itself seems easier. Love the now, and be in the momentum!
