In the beginning: Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them."
Now do you honestly believe that “image” is what Michelangelo painted on the Sistine Chapel? If you do, then I’m sorry we must agree to disagree. For me (and millions of other) that ‘image’ is the divine love within us that allows us to choose and create. Do you feel this love?; this divine love at the very core of our being? Some of us have, and it probably scared you to death, and if you are a spiritual person even more so. You understand what getting in touch with that love means to you and the world around you, but you are/were afraid of being abandoned by your friends and family (just as Jesus was kicked out of Nazareth). We become afraid of being called a kook or assigned some form of psychological identity disorder. I want to let you know though, you are not the only one that has felt it. You are NOT a kook, nor do you have a disorder.
What do we do about when Jesus told us: "Truly, I tell all of you with certainty, the one who believes in me will also do what I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” Jesus isn’t the only one that taught such things; Buddha, Krishna, Gandhi – spiritual leaders and Masters have all taught this same principle.
Divine love, which is inside you, will make you whole. It will grant to you a peace you’ve only ever dreamt of. It will connect us all. Open your heart to it, don’t be afraid.
