I want you to think about your lessons learned. In life, when and / or how did you learn your lessons? I’m speaking now of those AhHa moments when the light bulb really flashed on for you. I’m sure sometimes you learned from a book, but more often you learned from experience – something happened to you or you were doing something. To have that truly AhHa moment it rarely happens from reading a book; it can, but not very often.
More often our experiences are our teachers. We learn so much when a partner leaves us whether that is from death, betrayal, or mere boredom. Having children is a great way to learn things. Quite often when growing up I heard the expression, “well, if your friends were all jumping off a cliff – I guess you would to!”. Of course I was smart enough not to respond to that question, but if I knew then what I know now, an appropriate response might be; “well, if I really want to learn something, yes – I’d jump!”. Of course any teenager dumb enough to actually respond like that IS jumping off a cliff! - But I digress –
This leads me to a popular philosophy, that knowledge does not come to us, but rather from us. That there is no book or teacher that can teach us anything. That every book and teacher is merely a tool to awaken that bit of cosmic consciousness that is embedded in each and every one of us as cell memory. Why do you think some people like to say, “let me sleep on that”. They say that because they have the awareness, that while they may not have the answer this very moment, that the answer may very well come to them (awaken) in time. If you think about it, how many times have you really “got it” from reading a book? I would guess no where near the number of times you “got it” from contemplation and mulling something over and over again in your mind. Have you ever heard of the Akashic Records? Look it up.
If you can accept the idea of cosmic consciousness, the fact that what we learn comes from within us rather than to be implanted into us, (remember the old saying, you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink – how do you think that saying got started?), if you can accept cosmic consciousness and the theory of cell memory – just think of your possibilities… your potential.
Go ahead… unlock your inner Master – I dare you!
