Thought of the day

There are many thoughts we have easily over 40,000 a day. I just want to add one more.

Let the sun shine through

There is a philosophy (nothing new age about it) that we are all creatures of energy and light. This aged philosophy has been backed up by modern day science – at our core, as in the Universe, is pure energy.

In the marvelous novel, The Celestine Prophesy, by James Redfield, he writes: “We unconsciously compete for energy from other people and this competition underlies all conflicts.” This energy, which is our core, becomes a tool for dominance in all our relationships. Why?, because we have the false impression that without this energy from others, we will be somehow less.

The truth is, the more we struggle for dominance to consume another’s energy, the more energy we expend – and the more depleted we ultimately become. The goal is to give and share our energies. In this way, no one is depleted, and the energies actually grow.

Try giving your energy to others for a week. You may find it difficult at first, but remember, like the sun, our core energy is never ending; we don’t need to steal it from others to be replenished. Give your energy for a week and I promise you will be totally surprised at the outcome.
