Thought of the day

There are many thoughts we have easily over 40,000 a day. I just want to add one more.

Magnets; no longer a child's toy.
The Druid's Grove ~ Thought of the Day

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own.
And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go."

(Dr. Suess )

Magnets; no longer a child's toy.

Have you ever watched two magnets, and how they react to each other? I’m not scientist, but I guess that has something to do with positive and negative polarity. I do find it fascinating to watch however. How the magnets seem to dance and move on their own power when put in close proximity to another magnet. It’s as if some internal force is telling the magnet what to do.

I think we all have that internal force; a force that will attract us to some things and repel us from others. Our own positive and negative meter if you will. It is this internal force that we must all reconcile in order to be happy in life; it is our purpose.

Haven’t you ever caught yourself doing something that you just could not imagine yourself doing for very long, or wondering how people could live this way, or do this job for 20 years?! Like a magnet, you seem automatically repelled by it? On the contrary, have you ever been exposed to something that (as they say) draws you to it – like a magnet?

Self Actualization as described by Abraham Maslow is the highest level of psychological progression – it’s the top of his pyramid; his hierarchy of needs. I think that if we allow this inner force, our personal magnet to lead us, we will find Self Actualization – our purpose, our reason for living. How do you do that? Well, take a lesson from the magnet. The positive is what attracts… so if we are positive we will attract to us, and we must follow that which is positive to us. The negative repels, and we don’t need that. Be aware of your own positive and negative 'polarity'.

It is unusual how much energy we spend however, hanging on to the negative, trying to keep it close while the entire time there is a force within us pushing it away. You want your life to be easier? Don’t hang onto what your internal magnet is trying to push away!

~ I'm now networking on MySpace... check out my page here. ~

Don't forget to take a look at my book too!

Can someone please tell me why my life sucks?!

Do you have that friend that is always saying; "It'll never work." Have you heard them say, "I'm not a pessimist, I'm a realist!". If you know someone like that then they need my book. Its a little book packed full of perspective to help anyone stay on course - it's better than a compass!

For this coming New Year I also highly recommend Debbie Ford's book - The Best Year of my Life.
