Open Sesame
Phil Jackson wrote; “Always keep an open mind and a compassionate heart.” It’s something that is far easier said than
done. But then as I always say, “Everything is easier said than done – the
problem is that nothing is done if not first said”. No matter what happens, we must endeavor to
have an open mind. If we are closed to
certain things, then there are things that we will never ever learn, and what a
shame that would be.
There are many constants that I like to point out in
life. Two of them are, 1) There are no
coincidences, and 2) everything happens for a reason. I know they are very similar, and in some
cases they are identical in meaning, but there are some very subtle
differences.
There are no coincidences, means that for everything that
happens to you, it has been drawn into your life. Either you attracted it personally, or you
allowed it to happen by way of your response to others. Bottom line nothing happens in your life that
you first did not know about. Oh, you
might not have consciously known it… but the seed was there without a doubt.
Everything happens for a reason, means that all of those
things or situations that you attracted or invited in some way… are your
lesson(s) for the day. If you think your
Masters degree or your Doctorate, or even your High School Diploma was the mark
of the end of you education, you are sorely mistaken. You will never stop learning – even up to the
day you die.
But how are you going to do that if some of the rooms in
your mansion have closed doors.
