Right and Wrong
In the Buddhist tradition they say, “The threshold between
right and wrong is pain.” Many say there is no right or wrong, but rather only
that which serves you at the time, or that which does not. Yet we are forever tripping over ourselves
about being right or wrong. As my mentor
Debbie Ford writes; “When we look for what’s wrong in any given situation,
we’ll find it”.
The last time you received a review at work, how many pats
on the back did you get? Or was it you
boss’ easier responsibility to tell you in what area’s you need to
improve. I used write reviews for staff;
I know how it’s done. We have all become
a nation of very negative people. We are
no longer optimists and pessimists, we are optimists, and “realists”; we have
been trained (as the Buddhists would say) to feel the pain.
Is that the way you want to live? Not me.
I am going to minimize my pain, and choose to find the RIGHT in
things. I’m confident that with
practice, I’ll be able to automatically see the right in almost every
thing! And I’m pretty confident that you
can too!
