What are you doing right now? Are you thinking about what happened to your family yesterday? Are you worrying about what how you are going to deal with your financial problems next week? Did you get laid off? Loose your house? Are you depressed and wanting somehow to just be able to jump off this spinning planet? It’s so easy to fall into the worries of past or future, but just how much good will that do?

Eckhart Tolle reminds us in “The Power Of Now” that, “Thought cannot exist without consciousness, but consciousness does not need thought”. He is warning us that the more we ‘think’ about some things the more harm we may be doing to ourselves. You’ve heard the old adage – “Silence is Golden”, and our Masters have all taught us that only within our deeper silences will be able to hear the answers.

It is our consciousness that is connected to the answers, not our thought. Yes, this does sound confusing because everything we ‘learn’ we have consciously had to think about. But is this form of learning that is misleading. Scientists have shown us this form of learning utilizes only a small process of the brain. Our emotional aspect uses more than the linear thinking processes, but there is still yet an even larger consciousness that overlay both the emotional and intellectual. It is within this consciousness that enlightenment comes – along with the answers we seek.
