No,
today’s thought is not all about little girls!
Although by the end of it some men might see some similarities. No, I’m thinking about the upcoming holidays
and all the sweet that will about at work and the parties… all those candies
and cakes that will pull on your will power.
Will you be able to withstand the test or will you break down and give
in to the instant gratification.
Instant
gratification. If there is a devil on
this planet… well I think his other name would be Instant Gratification. There is nothing that gets in our way more,
on our road to success, than instant gratification. It’s the cookie sitting on the counter just
tempting us to mess up our diet! It’s
the one night stand that started with simple flirting at the bar after
work. It’s the purchase of that really
nice big screen, digital TV instead of paying all the bills that month. It’s instant gratification that is the
culprit in getting us away from the path that we truly want to be on.
Hopefully,
we all have a plan, set up with milestones and objectives. A plan to help us get from point A to point
B. You certainly would not take a trip
without a plan, so it’s just as important to have a plan for your life. You know your destination (your goal) how are
you going to get from here to there if you don’t have a plan. When you are creating your plan, it is
critical that you start thinking of all those things that are sweet and spice…
everything nice. If you prepare for
those things that you KNOW provide you with instant gratification then you may
better be prepared to avoid them.
Bright blessings ~ Richard
