The Devil made me do it.
The Druid's Grove ~ Thought of the Day
“I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.”

The Devil made me do it! |
“The devil made me do it”. What a cop out huh? That saying clearly comes from a more superstitious day when demons and devils were the cause of all out problems. I hope that now-a-days, it’s merely a cute saying that no one truly believes.
But why did you choose the obviously BAD choice? For the fun of it… “I don’t know” (ignorance, feigned or real… no matter). Debbie Ford would have us believe that our shame may very well have cause it, and she’d be right. Our shame creates our shadow, and it’s our past shames that we try so very hard to hide. Of course the shadow cannot be hidden. Left unattended it will sneak out when you least expect it. And cause us to make the world worst choices… devil choices I like to call them.
Devil choices are those choices that do not move you forward in a positive way. They are the choices that will take away from you rather than add to you. They are the choices that provide only instant gratification, but have little if any long lasting effect. It’s stopping by the quickie-mart for that Hostess Twinkie, and Diet Coke. It’s not saying something to your partner when they hurt you because you don’t want the confrontation. It’s letting your kids stay up too late to watch a movie, know they have to get up early for school the next day. We all make devil choices everyday, and we live with the consequences. We gain weight, we feel resentment toward a lover, we allow your children to perform poorly in school (especially if there is a test in the morning). We don’t need to make the devil choices of course; but we do. How do we stop? Slow down, and be aware. Our fast pace does not let us be in touch with very much at all.
Get in touch.
