Thought of the day

There are many thoughts we have easily over 40,000 a day. I just want to add one more.

The Greatest Story Ever Told

“What’s your story?”  Have you ever been asked that question?  I have.  Usually, it seems to mean why you are doing what it is you are doing at that particular time.  Generally speaking, it’s more of a passing fancy sort of question, and it truly minimizes your STORY.

Many people look at your story as a sort of Fate.  You were born to these parents, you were raised with these siblings, you went to these schools to learn what you know … you started working in this particular field … you married (or not) you’ve had children (or not)… and the story goes on until you die.  And according to Fate, you did not have much if any choices in your story; you fulfill your destiny simply by breathing and waking up every day.

I believe that your Story is much more than that.  For that reason I will capitalize the word story when I’m talking about your Story because it is so very important.  Yes, you can have a default Story, if you go through life without making any real choices, but how many of us really do that?  It is more likely that you are creating your Story every day, as you go along.  You know, most authors when they write, have an idea of how the book is going to begin and END.  They fill in the middle part as they go along.  Well, as the author of your life you cannot be 100% sure of how your Story is going to end, but you can “write” it as if you do.

Your Story is made up of every second, every breath that you took. Do not minimize it by saying your story is, “well, I’m accountant – married with 3 kids”.  You have a Story.  Be proud of it!   And when asked to speak of it … tell your Story with passion and love!

I have tried to write what you call The Greatest Story Ever Told,I call mine "My ObituaryIt is a very challenging task.It is the line between the dates on your headstone that is significant. That was your life.I struggle with filling in the blanks as nothing comes to mind about ME.I know my name and I know what I've done in life, but I can't seem to grasp any sort of concept of who I am.I imagine that being able to write Your greatest story must give a person some sort of feeling of accomplishment,to be able to look back on the words they wrote and say "thats me,that is who I am,that is my truth".I am pleased that I read your blog.It as inspired me to continue to search myself deeper with hope I can fill in the blank space between the dates of my birth and my death.I will no longer write my obituary,It will called "The Greatest Story Ever Told"thank You for the inspiration.

yoyo65 ~
Know that you are not alone in your search.  Pretty much everyone that breaths on the face of this planet is searching for the same thing.  Some of the simplest questions are the most difficult to answer... Who am I? Where am I going?  What is my purpose?  Your dash can be difficult to fill in.  Trust me though... others will not have a problem.  Our task is to make sure we might like what those others may say about our dash.  I recommend keeping a journal.  Months down the road it is good to visit your journal, and re-read it.  It's almost like you are an outsider looking back on your own life... and trust me, there is a growth process within that action.

The greatest STORY ever told is we breathe, we live, we sleep, we eat, we socialize, we work, we pray, we have dreams come true. How many different lifestyles can one person live, how many places can one person live at, how many jobs can one person have? The greatest story ever told is how we choose to make a choice and what resources we are gifted with or receive to have available to make the greatest STORY ever told. We live to have life, to open our hearts and share, care and be available to assist another human who may cry for help or not, but we are all on Earth together living, and telling our daily stories, we inherit Earths precious gifts, that is LIFE.
