“Argue for your limitations, and sure enough they are yours”. Richard Bach wrote that in his beautiful book Illusions, and it’s true. This is a very common philosophy. Our spiritual masters have taught us this throughout the decades.
It’s pretty hard to deal with sometimes, because there are some obstacles which are pretty daunting in the cruel light of day. There are many physical and mental incapacities which would seem to limit us. However, time and time again we have seen the nearly miraculous success stories of how these people have overcome their limitations.
And what of us without such physical or mental deficits? Why have we not become the dream, the vision that we see ourselves? My guess is mostly fear. Not just fear of failure (that’s a big one), but fear of success is pretty looming for some people too. I know how difficult it is to break out of the box others and we ourselves have put us in, but it is possible.
When we acknowledge the fear when we are aware and accept that which holds us back, only then can we break those bonds, unlock the chains, that keep us moving forward.
You know why you are reading this today.
