Thought of the day

There are many thoughts we have easily over 40,000 a day. I just want to add one more.

Today's a GOOD hair day!
The Druid's Grove ~ Thought of the Day

Some people are always grumbling that roses have thorns, I'm thankful that thorns have roses

Today's a good hair day!

Are you in a good situation or a bad one? I know it can be very easy to say, “my life sucks”, but have you tried to see anything else other than that? I’m not saying that life is a bed of roses, and that we don’t get swept up into “bad” things or we don’t make “bad” choices; we do. But have you even tried to use a different perspective? We do have the freedom of choice. Perhaps we cannot always influence or make a choice about a particular action, but we can ALWAYS choose how we will respond to that action.

We have been trained from a very early age to see the “bad” in things. Any of us can point out what is wrong with our work or our partner – we can easily and willingly tell others what is going bad in our day – we even have “bad hair day’s”. It is so ingrained in us that as we get older, we actually LOOK for the bad in things. We receive kudos at work when we spot mistakes, or even better rewards if we make no mistakes.

Why not look for the “good” today? That’s my challenge to you today. When you feel bad about something today, I want you to stop and take a deep breath and think about your situation. Then I want you try and think of 3 things that could be good about the situation. I think you might surprise yourself if you really try hard for this. “There’s no such thing as a problem without a reward in its hands. We seek life’s problems because we want life’s rewards. Richard Bach wrote that and I believe that it is true. Remember is you are looking for the good you very well may find it. But if you are looking for the bad, I pretty much guarantee you will find it. Live your life looking for and living for the good… have a GOOD HAIR DAY for once!

Perspective – use it or loose it. (R. Bach)

Can someone please tell me why my life sucks?!

Its a little book packed full of perspective to help you stay on course - it's better than a compass!

Merry meet!  I just wanted to say that this is a FANTASTIC post.  It's so very, very true.  I live up North where the winters are cold and snowy and all I ever hear are complaints about the weather.  People look at me like I'm a nutter when I comment on how pretty the snow is, or how much I love bundling up for the cold, but I really do.  It makes me appreciate my warm little house that much more.  Why not just try to find something good to focus on rather than clogging up our perspective with negativity?

Maybe I read Pollyanna one too many times as a little girl, but I really do believe in the power of positive thinking.  Thank you again for posting this.

Wow, if reading Pollyanna can make one positive maybe I should check it out!

Thank you for your comment AJ it is appreciated.  There is good deal of negativity in the world today.  So much in fact that now people are saying "I'm not negative"... or "I'm not a pessimist; I'm a realist!"  Negativity and pessimism are accepted as some form of reality.  People have become afraid to be positive.

So I give you Kudoos for your positive mindset.  Keep it up, and start saying to those nay-sayers; "I'm not and optimist, I'm a REALIST!"
