Thought of the day

There are many thoughts we have easily over 40,000 a day. I just want to add one more.

Truth or Dare?
The Druid's Grove ~ Thought of the Day

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection”

(Prince Gautama Siddharta - The Buddha )

Truth or Dare?

Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going? I swear, some of the easiest questions to ask are the hardest ones to answer. These three especially fly out all the time from the masses, and seem to bounce off the mountain tops, echoing in a never ending chorus.

Philosophers have pondered these questions for ages. Masters, old and new, have tried to gain our ear to guide us in some direction. Modern psychology argues from Freud to Groff on the end results; and let us not forget the impact of religion and science here.

The problem is that no one can answer these questions for us. We search and we search… we question, we research, we explore, we read; we watch and wait for a miracle. We tell ourselves, “the answers must be out there somewhere!” When in reality… they are not out there. All the answers you need are within yourself. The more introspective you can be in your search for truth, the better your chances of finding it. I do however admire the Kahlil Gibran quote; “… but say not I have found the truth, but rather say ‘I have found A truth walking on my path’ …”. The truth is vast, and it exists inside you. What you recognize as a truth, may very well be folly to someone else. Our task is to separate the universal truths from the personal truths. Even that is not of the utmost importance; just as long as you can see the truth.

Do you remember that old game of “Truth and Dare”. Some of my younger readers will not. Well… that old game never stops for us as we grow. We are constantly faced with a truth or a dare in life. Here’s the ultimate ‘Truth and Dare’: I dare you to stop whining about how you don’t know who you are, or what you’d doing or what you’re supposed to be doing in life… and I dare you be still and quiet… to look inside yourself, and wake up to the answers within. I know you can do it! I dare you to wake up and Rock on!

Bright blessings ~ Richard
