Whadda mean?!
The Druid's Grove ~ Thought of the Day

Whadda mean?! |
Recently, I’ve been perplexed by people when I hear them say; “I feel as if my life has no meaning.” Of course many of these are young people, but I’ve heard it from older generations too. I find it perplexing because it is ourselves that apply the meaning to our life. From my perspective, if you have no meaning in your life then that’s your own damn fault.
Our suffering is not because of the things that happened to us, but is based on how we choose to interpret those happenings. It’s the meaning that we apply to those happenings. Haven’t you ever experienced the feeling of, “why the hell are they so happy?” Or don’t you know someone that has the reputation of being “unshakable” meaning nothing seems to bother them? They are the people that really piss you off remember? (Some would say that is your ‘light-shadow’ shinning through!) These are the people that apply a different meaning to their life … different from you anyway.
It is possible to come out on top of any situation… to be a survivor is always better than being a victim. As I say; “Don’t tell me you’re a victim, show me you’re a survivor!”
So, I’d like you to do something for me. Today I want you to think of one thing that happened to you that you feel was a bad happening. It was painful, embarrassing or hurtful in some way. Then I want you to think of 3 different POSITIVE meanings that you could have gotten from the experience. These would be meanings that would make you feel strong, empowered, and mindful (a survivor) instead of being beaten, weak, numb (a victim).
Bright blessings ~Richard
