I grew up in a world where it was common to hear the expression; “easier said than done!”. It’s such a common expression, and I suppose there is a great amount of truth to it as well.  

Today however, I hear this axiom in a very different light. I find it a defeatist excuse, a negative argument – a cop out. It is the reason give to dismiss a thought, a wish, sometimes even a dream. In actuality, everything is easier said than done. I mean how easy is it to say “I love you”. It’s said millions of times a day, all over the world, but is it always meant? If the actions of love were spread as easily as the words of love I think we’d see a very different world.  

That is why today when I hear someone give the excuse, “easier said than done”, my reply most often will be – “Everything is easier said then done, but nothing is done until it is first said.” I encourage you to first dream your dreams… then say it (remember that’s the easy part!). I encourage you to say it out loud – shout it from the mountain tops.  

Many follow the old superstition that if you speak your dreams out loud then they will never come true. Poppy-cock! Say your dreams out loud… write them down; share them with your loved ones. In giving ‘breath’ to your dream you start the process in giving them life. Your life started with a breath. If you didn’t breath the doctor would “encourage” you by smacking your butt! So I’m here to smack your butt again and encourage you to give breath to your dreams.

Speak them! You just might be amazed at the results.
