Thought of the day

There are many thoughts we have easily over 40,000 a day. I just want to add one more.

What's your song?
Greenman Coaching ~ Thought of the Day

"Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You."

(Dr. Suess )

Are you happy? What is it that makes you happy? Would you be happier if you had thousands of dollars in the bank right now? Would you be happier if your kids were all content with their lives? What would make you happy?

Well, that is sort of a trick question. Happiness you see is a state of mind. And like any other state of mind, it can be chosen. Happiness doesn’t have to be a reaction. There is actually a theory that true happiness is not found in the physical world at all. Yes, who wouldn’t love to have thousands of dollars in the bank, especially in this day and age, but would it really make you happy. It probably would not make you sad, and it sure would make things easier, but there are people that get depressed no matter how rich they are. Not to mention, wealth has its own set of problems (so I’m told).

So what’s the secret? Choose happiness. There is even a bigger theory out there – Those that are happy attract to themselves happy things. The fog does not go away so that the sun can come up … no the fog goes away WHEN the sun comes up. Stop seeking happiness outside yourself when happiness can only be found inside yourself.

I don’t believe in the vengeful, wrathful God of the Old Testament. I believe in a giving, loving God – one that created us and like any loving parent wants only the best and only our happiness. Everything has been put into place for our happiness, all we have to do is see it.

Remember, A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song. (Chinese Proverb).
