Thought of the day

There are many thoughts we have easily over 40,000 a day. I just want to add one more.

Will your ship come in?
The Druid's Grove ~ Thought of the Day

“Allow the world to live as it chooses, and allow yourself to live as you choose.”

(Richard Bach)
Will your ship come in?

In 1974 Morris Albert recorded his first gold… “Feeling”. It touched the hearts of million’s then, and still does today really. If you don’t know the song (and I’m sure you do I you hear it) check it out on You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyBcHUe4WeQ

This song was so popular I think because it touched every broken heart that heard it. I was just going into High School when this hit the charts and trust me… I cried into my shirt on more than one occasion while blaring this song on the car radio! Ironically, it was also one of the song our high school used during the mandatory PE class of Social Dance.

Anyway… I’m not here to talk about a song but rather feelings as a whole. What are they and how are they important? It really is a very long questions and I could write pages on the subject… but let me TRY to be brief. What are feelings? I like to call feelings the language of our soul – it is our feelings that give our lives passion. They are very powerful and can inspire and motivate us to greatness; both in the profound, AND in the profane.

Feelings out of control, however, are dangerous. If you’ve read my book you will have read this already. I liken our life to a sailing vessel, trying to navigate on the Ocean of Life. I see Passion (our feelings) as the wind that fills our sails, and I see Reason (our thinking mind), as the sailor that operates the rudder. Of course without Passion, our sails would be empty and we would only flounder on the Ocean of Life – no matter how much Reason spins the rudder. It is only with Passion that we can move forward, but if we do not have Reason manning the helm to steer the ship, then we are bound for certain destruction on the reef! So, you see, we need both Passion and Reason to navigate safely the Ocean of Life.

Bright blessings ~ Richard

Will you join us in Chat tomorrow? We'll be talking about Happiness and if it's real and attainable.

Don't forget to take a look at my book too!

Can someone please tell me why my life sucks?!

Its a little book packed full of perspective to help you stay on course - it's better than a compass!
