Do you remember what Christmas was like when you were a child? What about Christmas eve? Where you able to sleep? Did you believe in Santa Claus, like Virginia and the now famous editorial by Francis Church? By the way, if you’ve never read the Sun Tribune Article by Church, I highly recommend it – it is very touching, and profound. The child-like joy of Christmas is brought about by our beliefs.

Belief is a very strong factor in our lives today. If you do not believe in something, that something will NOT exist for you. Believe it, and it becomes real. Tell a 4 year old there is no Santa – will they trust and believe you right away? No, they will not allow what they believe to be real to just go away with a magical poof. At the core of every success is a belief that it will happen. A belief in the vision or dream.

This can be a very difficult thing to hold onto however. Just like many grown ups do not believe in Santa, it’s hard to believe in your dream when it never seems to come any closer to you. If we can’t see it, or touch it… smell it or taste it, it does not seem to be real. But your dream is real. You’ve created it, and it is out there for you. The next step is your belief in it. Your belief and passion to give your dreams life. Don’t walk away from your dreams mere because you can’t see it yet. Maybe you are not looking in the right place. If something is not happening for you, then maybe you need to change what you are doing so that it CAN happen for you.

But never fear. There is magic in this world. There is glory and splendor and it all starts with a belief. It’s like Mr. Church wrote to Virginia oh so many years ago: “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy.”
