Thought of the day

There are many thoughts we have easily over 40,000 a day. I just want to add one more.

"On hundred years later"
The Druid's Grove ~ Thought of the Day

"The great majority work only when forced by necessity, and this natural human aversion to work gives rise to the most difficult social problems."

(Freud)

"One hundred years later"

On this auspicious day, I am want to ask – are you free? Yesterday we, here in the USA, celebrated the birth and life of an American hero; Martin Luther King Jr. 45 years after this great man shared his dream with us from the foot of the Lincoln Memorial, a man of color is accepting the highest position of this Nation; President of the United States of America. Can we now say we are no longer dreaming, but rather we have finally WOKE UP!

I’m not concerned with your politics. I don’t care if you believe Obama is going to be good or bad for this country. I just want to share with you my pride in a people that have grown to a place where they can see past their social differences and place their trust in a man that only 50 years ago may have been forced to ride in the back of the bus.

But the question remains. Do you feel free? Even here in the United States of America , the land of opportunity – the land of the FREE, even here so many of us do not feel free. Of course much of that is the voice of entitlement, and they do not speak from a point of relativity. Regardless, we often feel bound in poor relationships. We feel bound to poor jobs just to scratch out a living. We feel bound by an economy that keeps us down. And yes, despite how far we may have come under the guidance and wisdom of Dr. King – we still feel bound by the color of our skin. But is it from these bonds that we seek freedom?

Is the falcon not free because the starling pesters, cajoles and pecks at him? Is the Honey bee not free because it must work so hard for the good of one bee? Is the river NOT free because it must find its way over and through rocks and boulders that have been put in its path?

No, freedom is not always something that is given to us. Freedom is something we allow to grow from within. And when enough of us are free, and are willing to share that freedom – then the dream will become a reality; “thank God – free at last!”

Bright blessings ~ Richard

I Have A Dream

~ I'm now networking on MySpace... check out my page here. ~

Don't forget to take a look at my book too!

Can someone please tell me why my life sucks?!

Do you have that friend that is always saying; "It'll never work." Have you heard them say, "I'm not a pessimist, I'm a realist!". If you know someone like that then they need my book. Its a little book packed full of perspective to help anyone stay on course - it's better than a compass!

For this coming New Year I also highly recommend Debbie Ford's book - The Best Year of my Life.
