Inspired Being: The Key to Happiness

One of the greatest common desires among all human beings is to create and maintain happiness in our daily lives. This deep and powerful longing reflects a beautiful aspect of human nature, to continually strive for greater fulfillment, peace, purpose and a sense of joyful meaning. Happiness is often defined as the experience of ongoing pleasant emotion, positive circumstance, and a significant absence of difficulty. However, life is a multi-faceted journey. Whether we choose to embrace this reality or not, pain and suffering are an inevitable part of being human. At some point in our lives we all must all face the pain of dissapointment, sorrow, loss, fear, confusion, physical illness, & emotional despair... If suffering is an inevitable part of life, how then do we reconcile the possibility of achieving true happiness? Well, contrary to our cultural definitions and expectations, happiness does not depend on the absence of pain or problems. True abiding happiness reflects a sense of inner peace & an open-hearted embrace of each moment of our lives, reguardless of the cicumstances that surround those moments. This expression of unconditional acceptance is what I refer to as "Inspired Being."

Cultivating a sense of "Inspired Being" is both challenging & deeply fulfilling. It is requires an intention to be fully engaged in the present moment, a willingness to be open to all that life presents to us & a dedication to mindful living. True happiness reflects wholeness, fulfillment & a presence of being that exists beyond the flux of our emotions and the unpredictable situations that we encounter in our lives. It is comparative to the stillness within the depths of an ocean while it’s surface storms & rages or calms to a gentle glitter. "Inspired Being" reflects a profound connection with a force of peace and harmony residing in the depths of our own being. Seeking, discovering & experiencing this powerful presence, we begin to transform our understanding & approach to joyful living.

Life's difficulties & disapointments no longer become obstacles to happiness. Our sense of wholeness does not rest singularly in the fulfillment of our desires nor amid a towering of achievements. We no longer cling desperately to our pleasures, we simply savor & enjoy them. We respond wisely to pain, removing the seeds of suffering that flourish in aversion. And when the forces of sorrow & affliction close our hearts in fear, we embrace this resistance...and all else that life endows. We have found within ourselves all that is needed to carry us through life's ordeals. No matter what our present life condition or emotional state may be, no matter how hopeless our thoughts or dreadful our situation...we can cultivate a sense of "Inspired Being" that will sustain, comfort, guide & propel us through despair, beyond the mundane & into meaningful living ...
