That is, 30 years since I met my first computer. She was young and beautiful...a PDP 11/34 at my local college. My friends and I had started the first computer club at our high school. The only problem was there were no computers.

Then I spotted her at the local college, and we were introduced through a common friend. I was in love. I typed. She typed back. Teletype love.

Looking back at those days of playing Advent and Trek, I realize that those were the golden years. I dreamed of creating whole universes and a learned the true language of love: BASIC. An I also realize that over the past 30 years I have deviated from my first true love. I let the cares of the Word get in the way. I began to Excel at Access and then where was the time?

Now it's time for me to return to my pure love. I sense one of those universes are just around the corner waiting for me to create it.

Robert
