Highly experienced College Career Counselor with a Christian perspective and 30 years experience in Career Planning and Development. I am highly effective in advising about educational options and personal Work/Life goals.
My Career background includes employment as a University Career Counselor and Academic Advisor as well as in Medical Industry settings, Human Resources, and College and High School Educator.
I currently have a private practice in Career Counseling Services and specialize in Career Management.
My education includes:
- Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Health Education with secondary teaching certificate from University of Oregon
- Certified over ten years as a Vocational Counselor with the Department of Business and Consumer Affairs
- Professional affiliations includes Career Management and Society for Human Resource organizations
- Author of Book titled: Catch Me When I Fall: Smooth Landings for Job Seekers
I help you evaluate whether more education is truly applicable to your goal. We assess if you want more education for stimulation or to enhance your specific goals. When you are assessing a job goal, we consider what you need to be competitive. Merely putting more education on your resume is not necessarily the solution. You may not need an expensive new graduate degree. Rather, we consider a variety of approaches, including certifications or advanced credentials unique to various professional fields without earning another degree. I look for any inclination to go back to school simply because it is safe, familiar, and may provide a temporary solution to career confusion.
