The iguanas in the photo are mine -- the big male, Majyk, and his mate, Velcro, are 14 years old in that picture. And their son Zaphod (not shown) is now 15 years old. (And yes, those smiles are real --not photoshop'd in!)
Your iguana can be a loving companion for 14 to 18 years if you give him or her the right care. How long does an iguana live if you feed them what most pet stores tell you? About one year.
Find out how to give your iguana the BEST possible care, for a long and happy life. --And that begins with the right diet and environment.

IMPORTANT: If you are reading this for the first time because you have, or think you might have an iguana or other reptile veterinary emergency DON'T WAIT until my hours start to call for assistance -- Call Your Reptile/Exotics Vet NOW! A call is FREE -- while waiting could cost the life of your pet.
IF YOU'RE NOT SURE IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY: Perform this simple test: If the same problem/accident/symptoms were present in your baby, what would you do? If the answer is, "Rush them to the Emergency Room/Doctor's Office" -- then you HAVE an emergency and you need to act on it the same way you would if it were happening to one of your children. TELL THE VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST THAT YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY and don't let them put you off to another day -- and if your animal is bleeding, tell them you are bringing the animal in IMMEDIATELY, and demand instructions on how to stop the bleeding from the vet while you are on the phone.
IN AN EXTREME EMERGENCY, the closest vet may be the best choice if you are faced with several hours' drive to get to the nearest reptile vet. Instruct the nearby vet to telephone your reptile vet for an emergency consultation, as reptiles have special needs where medications and procedures are concerned, and a medication that is commonly given to mammals can greatly worsen the condition of a reptile, and others won't adequately benefit them.
DON'T HAVE A REPTILE/EXOTICS VET YET? Visit The Herp Vet Connection. Make certain the exotics vet you choose offers 24 hour emergency service: It's much better to have it and not need it --than to need it and not have it.

This is stealing. From me, and from Ingenio.
And just like shoplifting, it drives overhead and prices up.
