My name's Michael and I've been a Mac user and guru for over 15 years.
Apple usually does a great job designing things to work well together, but sometimes things aren't clear, especially if you've never used a feature, or are new to the Mac from Windows.
I know Macs really well, especially from a "how to" point of view. If you want to figure out how to get something done quickly and efficiently, or if something doesn't seem to be working right, give me a call. I'll get you an answer either while we're on the phone, or I can look into it and get back to you ASAP so that we make the best use of your time.
I've been using various iPods (original, nano, and shuffle) since the first one came out in 2001, even replacing the battery and hard drives.
I can help you:
- Get the most out of iTunes & your iPod (smart playlists rock!)
- Take great photos and make them look great in iPhoto, Lightroom, or Photoshop
- Figure something tricky out in Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint
- Clean up and reformat text or data files
- Save time & organize your websites in Safari
- Automate and simplify repetitive tasks with Automator
- Help you design a web page or post & share photos
- Get rid of annoyances (like duplicates in your iPhone, or that volume-change sound on the Mac)
- Learn new cool & useful things, like getting your Mac to read documents to you out loud, or convert them to mp3.
- Use clean-up utilities to reclaim disk space and keep your Mac running smoothly
- and more! Don't put up with annoyances that can be easily solved.
And all this in plain english, without geek speak!
I also believe in getting you the help you need at your pace, Whether you want a quick answer, or want me to walk you through a process.
From software tweaks and fixes to hardware upgrades like adding memory or upgrading or hooking up hard drives, printers, and more: If I can't help, I'll be upfront with you and offer to find out and get right back to you.
Making great photos
I'm also an avid digital photographer and can help you get the most out of your digital camera, from how to compose a good photo, to setting your camera, to using an image-editing program like iPhoto, Photoshop, and even Preview! to get your images looking great and resize them easily for printing, or posting online.
Video and sound editing
I've done a good bit of video editing both in iMovie and Final Cut Pro, as well as sound editing apps like Soundtrack Pro and Audacity. Want to grab sound from a Quicktime movie, or record something and turn it into an mp3? Let me know!
