I know some people don't need to go to a traditional Travel Agent, for exampel, before traveling within your state. However, sometimes you may only have a couple of questions and you know you will be booking the travel yourselves. That's where I come in. I can let you know where to go to have fun and sightsee. If you're driving or traveling by rail, I can tell you what's in the states you'll pass, and the sights to see along the way in each state. This way, you can make the most of your time and have fun on your trip.
When you're leaving the country it'll be the same thing, too, but as a Destination Travel Agent, there are other things you may want to consider. I want you to have fun so I can give you a little information on sightseeing in each country, and what to do or not to do while you're there. I can also give you advice on general documentations, such as passports or visas; how long the wait is in each country and if you need to get shots (NOTE: ALWAYS CHECK WITH THE INS TOO, AS YOU WILL NEED TO GET YOUR PAPERWORK FROM THEM ANYWAY). The INS can give you all the legal paperwork you need to enter and exit each country, and can also inform you of any new rules or prices. Entry and Exit rules are very important, and what can you bring home, etc. It's very important for you to know these rules because you will need to know what EACH entry and exit rules are in each country - some countries are very strict and can make you go straight back home or worse you could end up in jail!
No matter where you want to go, it's always best to know all the rules, as that's not the airline's job, and they don't have time to tell you all those things like a Travel Agent would do.
As a Travel Agent, I can answer most of your general questions right away, but things change very quickly in the travel industry, especially if you want to know about the documentation and shots, and waiting periods. If I don't know the answer right away about those questions, then before we end the call we can set up an appointment time or I can send you the the information back by email ASAP. It's always best to double check things, especially before you leave the country, and as you know it's better to be safe than sorry, so on that note don't forget to get insurance too!
