Hello! I'm Vibraceous, ND. I'm a doctor of naturopathy, a minister, and was formerly certified as an addictions professional. I also have 23 years in recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction.
The advice I give is not intended to take the place of a medical doctor or licensed counselor's advice. What I have to offer is a background consisting of years of study and practice in the field of addictions, and also my own experience. I can also offer to you the benefit of what I have learned in my work as a doctor of naturopathy. Addiction is a disease, and I am trained in ways to assist the body in it's efforts to fight off disease, and recover from its ill-effects.
I'm also a minster, as mentioned above, and in that capacity I can offer you counsel, as well. There are often many issues accompanying addiction which people don't always see as part of the disease. Family issues, issues with trust, remorse, self-hatred, and self-defeating behaviors...these are all part of the disease.
Recovery is about many things. It is about physically satisfying the cravings with natural substances which work to balance the body and brain chemistry. It's about helping the body to recover, as well, from the negative affects of whatever substance was being used.
This is true also, in cases of food, sex, and relationship addictions, etc., because brain chemistry is affected by these types of addictions, as well.
It's about emotionally and spiritually recovering, and learning how to stay stopped. It's about reaching out, asking for help, giving thanks, making up for damage done, and learning to love yourself and others again, and being honest with you and them, for often these traits are lost.
It's about rebuilding your life...undoing damage...making up for lost time. It's about becoming who you were created to be.
Recovery's about being healthy and happy without artificial stimuli...It's about being natural and REAL.
I have a slightly different approach to addiction than most, in that I incorporate the principles of natural health when addressing the problem. I work at it first from a nourishment perspective, then address other issues from there. I find it is easier to overcome the problems that way. It's hard to discontinue behaviors when your body is craving, so the cravings need to be addressed first. That is the approach that I take.
The minister in me comes next into the picture, as I help you get in touch with your inner strength...with the best parts of yourself, and with your faith, so you can begin to believe in a better future again, and so that you may devote yourself to living a happier and more fulfilled life. I can teach you the spiritual principles you'll need to succeed!
I am also available in this capacity to help you deal with issues of guilt and remorse, and to help you learn how to forgive.
Sex addiction, food addiction, drug addiction...the same dynamics are involved with all!
I can help members of the family, as well, for they, too, are deeply affected and need to relearn how to live and sustain a normal life for themselves.
Finally, I am here, too, to help address any damage which may have been done to the body and brain. This is often overlooked in recovery, but how can recovery be complete without addressing the damage that can be done to the nervous system...the digestive system...the endocrine system...the circulatory system...the structural system...the whole entire body is often affected! More than you have any idea!
The organs...the liver...the kidneys...the brain...the lungs...the heart...the stomach...the colon...the skin...the adrenals...the pancreas...the spleen...EVERYTHING IN YOU GETS AFFECTED WHEN YOU PUT POISON INTO YOURSELF! Even if it's just poisonous thoughts!
Call me. Let's talk about recovery. Okay? I'm here to listen and help! You can do it, one day at a time.
Blessings,
Vibraceous, ND
