Mac, Digital Video, and Final Cut Pro Advice!

Once upon a long, long time ago, I began my lifelong love with Macintosh computers when by default there were Macs in the labs at Humboldt State University (1988-1992) while pursuing a BS in Natural Resources. My first experiences with any computer was with an Apple, and a few years later while attending a 5 month multimedia intensive here in Colorado, I bought my first Mac, a blue and white G3 with a 6GB hard drive. In 2004 I bought a G4 iMac, and continued my learning curve.
How times have changed: I now operate my daily life from my 2009 MacBookPro with a 250GB hard drive, and it cost $400 less than my first Mac...
Thus, I have been a Mac guy for 22 years, and have had a LOT of in the field training: I have troubleshot virtually every problem there is, made my way through failed Hard Drives, found out which disk utility program really does the best job, and even spent my own large amount of time and money learning from other mac experts...
In 2002, I began my career as a digital photographer and videographer, and here is where I learned Final Cut Pro as a professional wedding videographer primarily. A lot of work!
After countless videos and an enormous learning curve, I can safely say I am a Final Cut Pro and digital video expert. My current full time job is Senior Editor (FCP) for WildOnTheFly, an international fly-fishing travel and media service. I shoot digital video on long excursions into international waters, then edit every day, often in High Def, and I estimate that I solve at least one new challenge with Final Cut Pro weekly, from exporting and conversion to best file sizes and formats for the web, fixing sound, interesting and useful tips and tricks, and much more.
