Below in quotes is my profile from the website of the VC firm where I am currently an employee
I currently advise our firm's portfolio companies as an employee of an early stage VC firm on the East Coast.
But before becoming a VC, I worked at a number of startups and (more importantly to you) I successfully built and managed my own management consultancy in the Silicon Valley.
I developed a very strong reputation with my more than twelve clients and learned a lot of lessons in the process that I would be happy to share, if you too are considering starting your own firm.
- Should I incorporate?
- How do I define my business development goals and overall plan?
- What services should I offer?
- What are the best places for me to be drumming up project leads?
- Are there any pitfalls of running my own consultancy I should consider?
I too went through this process and so I am often referred calls incidentally (friends of friends) who need some help in starting their own gig. I have successfully advised several friends in starting their own companies/consultancies questions and I find it very rewarding.
I enjoy helping entreprenuers build companies so much that that is why I decided to do it for a living!
Let me know if you think my input on starting your own firm would be beneficial...others have felt that I was a big help when they were getting started with these big questions so that's why I decided to post my profile.
I may not always be available but feel free to pop me a message if you would like to make an appointment and we can set up some time!
Regards,
Azimuth
