DeAnna Rice   Survival can be a challenge, but you can do it!!!
Hi Talk about survival! I am a 2 time breast cancer survivor. The first time I was 29 years old, I had 3 kids, the youngest was only 8 months old. I went through chemo and radiation therapy...lost all of my hair. The second time I had cancer I was 35 years old...again I had a baby 7 months old. They had told me I would never be able to have any more children so she came as a total shock. I had chemo and radiation...only this time it affected me a bit worse. I was older the medications were stronger and I was scared! I have walked around as a bald and (plump) woman twice in my life. A bald person with cancer is kind of easy to see. Since I had babies both times, a wig wasn't an option, can you imagine me walking with a half cocked hairpiece?! I opted for a baseball cap...lot's of colors and fabrics. Mentally surviving cancer was a bit tougher, after the treatments were through. I had no one to talk to who had been there. All of the questions, I had... no one had the answers. I didn't even know anyone who had cancer when they were young. I understand all of the feelings you or your friend or loved on is going through. Maybe I can help.
