I am a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser, Advisor, and Consultant with offices in Southern and Northern California. I have 14 years experience in this field, hold the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute and am a Certified General Appraiser licensed in the State of California. I have provided consulting and valuation services in 9 western states. The majority of my experience involves office, retail, industrial, hotel/motel, mixed-use, and apartment properties. In addition, I have experience with dozens of different types of special-purpose properties including restaurants, movie theatres, car dealerships, timeshare resorts, gasoline service stations, convenience stores, car washes, environmentally impacted land, subdivisions, and golf courses, as well as partial interests and fractional interests (leasehold interests, etc.). My consulting experience includes rehabilitation feasibility studies, supply and demand studies, highest and best use studies, rent reviews, due-dilligence, investment/acquisition analyses, and property tax consultations. Prior to entering the commercial real estate business, I worked as an accountant and business appraiser. My educational background includes a B.S.B.A. from the University of Lowell (now University of Massachusetts/Lowell) (1982) and an M.S. in Real Estate from Georgia State University (1987). In addition to my real estate coursework at Georgia State University, I have completed all of the required coursework necessary to earn the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute as well as several additional courses and numerous continuing education seminars. Publications include Appraising Low-Investment Grade Apartments, Appraisal Journal, 1996.
