Professional SCO Unix consultant in business since 1983.
SCO ACE certified.
Installation, networking, troubleshooting. By phone (usually available 8:00 to 5:00 EST Mon-Fri) or use Keen mail:
While I can offer general help with any Unix/Linux problem, my most specific knowledge will be in SCO OSR5 and Red Hat Linux.
I may not be able to help with SCO Xenix or Unixware: Xenix is very old and I have forgotten a lot, and there just isn't much Unixware out there so I don't do a lot. SCO Openserver is something I work with almost every day.
Mail is usually the least expensive and most efficient way to get answers- I strongly encourage you to use it - especially if it's Xenix or Unixware or anything else that I don't do a lot of. Click this link for more information on that:
Mail and other info
I will usually respond to your Keen Mail messages within 24 hours, unless I contact you to make other arrangements.
I also have recorded advice available.
Of course there are situations where you need help NOW. If your SCO Unix system is down, or crashed, or out of disk space, you may want to just immediately call. If the link button says I am available (if it says "Talk Me Now"), I really am available- I keep on top of this and don't pretend to be available when I am not. If I'm not available right this minute, I often am available later or a mutually convenient time can be arranged.
Some of the things I can help you with quickly by phone
- Installation problems
- Network cards
- Tape drives, serial and parallel ports
- Adding a default route
- Network print servers (HP, Netgear, etc.)
- Printers garbling or stair-stepping
- Unwanted form feeds or banner pages on printers
- Accessing file system from Windows
- Performance problems
- Out of disk space
