Call me for a man's point of view and from someone who has dealt with addictions his whole life.
Why are programs like AA and NA so successful? Because it's addicts helping addicts, unlike talking to someone who has never been there, done that.
It amazes me sometimes when I see or hear about these doctors who have went to college for many years to earn a degree specializing in this stuff, but yet, have never experienced it firsthand. Instead, they try to remedy the situation by following a book or what they were taught.
Give me a break.
