Barbara Advises Men Who Suffer From Stress

Men in Western Societies often suffer from higher stress related illnesses due to their inability to feel a full range of emotions. Due to societal expectations, many men have been conditioned to repress their feelings or find inadequate outlets for them. For example, many men replace their feelings of pain, shame, sadness and fear with anger. Others might respond to their partners need for intimacy and closeness with sexual overtures. Very often, men become addicted to the endorphins released during sexual activity because it allows them to find some relief to highly charged feelings of pain, sadness and fear.
Emotions that are not felt and released can cause serious physical and psychological illness.
Emotions affect our physical body as much as our body affects our feelings and thinking. People who constantly ignore, dismiss or repress their emotions, are setting themselves up for physical illness.
