In my 14 years experience as a State Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist/ Psychotherapist I have treated many people with various forms of Anxiety, Fear of Fearful Feelings, Agoraphobia, Acute Anxiety, Panic, Phobias, and PTSD.
I have a structured program to help you find relief from fears. You don't have to live with it. It can be overcome. The first stage is evaluation and then I have various readings, tapes, and relaxation exercises that comprise a step-by-step treatment program. If you have heart palpitations, sweating, breathing problems, dizziness, nausea, shakiness or fear of going crazy, losing control, or dying CALL NOW FOR A CONSULTATION.
This is a comprehensive program that tailors a relaxation and stress-reduction response to the triggers for your particular type of anxiety. Research demonstrates that one of the best non-pharmacological treatments for the anxiety spectrum is Progressive Muscle Relaxation. When people learn to use a PMR tape in a regularly scheduled fashion and also in an "as needed" fashion their anxiety is reduced. This method paired with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can help you take back control over your life.
There are seven types of anxiety within the anxiety spectrum and you can read my blog to learn about how the evaluation process works. Be sure to read Part 1 and Part 2 of the Anxiety blog.
Working with a professionally trained anxiety expert can help you set goals and coach you through a program that works for you.
Medication can be used also as an adjunct to therapy which includes the PMR and CBT and relaxation -stress -reduction components. Medication is not necessary in all cases. Many anxiety medications can be addictive and medication alone is not as good a solution as medication and therapy together.
You can learn:- how to float your way through panic attacks
- how to close down flashbacks in a healthy way
- how to develop stress coping statements
- fight negative voices
- stop frightening yourself
- identify cognitive distortions or thinking errors
- deal with underlying anger and shame
- develop stress reduction and relaxation rituals
- breathing exercises
- guided imagery exercises and other tools
Some children have developed anxiety conditions as well, and we have a specialized program designed for kids.
The seven types of anxiety which I briefly describe in my blog are: Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Panic Disorder With Agoraphobia, Simple Phobia, Social Phobia, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
This program's therapeutic process is fashioned to help the individual change the habits of thought, belief, attitude, and behavior which have contributed to the anxious feelings. Tapes, books, workbook, and other materials are an integral part of the therapy process. Based on cognitive, behavioral and goal-oriented therapies, the program addresses four basic areas:
1. Understanding the condition
2. Learning how to relax your body
3. Learning new skills of thought and attitude
4. Learning to change your behavior patterns so that you can begin to do
those things you now avoid.
There are 2 ways you can access this program -the first one is the least expensive method:
A) You have a minimum of 16 sessions with a therapist relying mostly on the tapes, workbook, and books.
B) You have a balanced approach that includes equal emphasis on sessions with the therapist, tapes, workbook, and books and may end up with a longer span of sessions with the therapist.
I know how hard it is for those who are feeling anxious and I am here to help. To discuss treatment options, or set an appointment
