If we weren't living in Post Corporate-America's meltdown, I wouldn't have needed to ask any of the following: Did your job leave, taking your self-esteem with it? Does your family now devalue you because you can't pull down the income you once did? Are you dealing with a family member who has decided to take out anger on you when an ex-employer is the deserving target, not you? Have you thought of some pretty desperate measures, or just felt totally incapable of dealing with any of this mess? Please call me and we can talk. Before Meltdown : Are your parents divorcing and putting you in the middle? Are you the parent of a divorcing child? Are you in an abusive relationship that you need out of? Call me and I will be a willing ear and someone you can turn to unconditionally. I promise you that I will not judge you, and I won't even give advice UNLESS YOU ASK FOR IT. Let me state here and now that there is no "dumb" problem or question. Also, you have no reason to think that your problems are minor beside someone else's. You are going through it, and they are not. Add this to your knowledge of me and what I can do for you: I am never to take the place of guidance counselors or professionals. If I suggest that you go to such a person at your school, your church or your community, please consider doing it. You are of the most importance here, and keeping you out of harm's way is the order of the day. I won't go behind your back and tell the authorities for you, but I might refuse further contact with you if you really need assistance and will not go for it. If I have helped you, please tell friends who need help so I can assist them as well.
