In today’s fast paced world time is a valuable commodity. Little things, like getting to work on time in the traffic! Got kids? You have to arrange your day around two schedules. Along comes Mr. Coupon Bait and Switch Carpet Cleaner. All of a sudden the price on the phone or the ad wasn’t quite accurate if you really want the cleaning to be properly done. In fact, you’re made to feel guilty, or appear not to smart if you don’t agree to those extra charges. You’ve gone to all of this trouble to have this work done today. Well what it’s gonna be, deal, or no deal? You give in because you don’t have time to go through all of this again-in other words you just became another bait and switch victim. Don’t think this technique is limited to carpet cleaners. You know those big “day after” Christmas sales where maybe a really expensive TV is on sale for practically free!!!! It’s on sale alright, if you are one of the first five people of the five hundred in line since 4 am that morning. If you read the small print on the ad, look for “quantities limited”. The government makes them say it somewhere.
