MY SERVICE:

Motivating a healthy pursuit of positive experiences which in the field of Positive Psychology is referred to as the active cultivation of positive emotions and experiences is a significant contributor to our well-being. This blended with appropriate counseling, therapy or life coaching aimed at the individual's needs is integral to my approach.

MY EXPERIENCE:

I have over 30yrs of experience and qualifications in numerous intervention methods eg. Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative therapy, Strategic therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Motivational Therapy, Coaching and Positive Psychology etc.

I have also trained/supervised numerous other health professionals. My expertise has been with all varieties of adult problems/diagnoses/situations as well as running group therapy programs, providing life coaching and judiciously using humor...which all equips me to use more than a one size fits all service. In addition I have had the privilege of learning from my clients, and I abide by a professional code of conduct and ethics.

I am currently in private practice, seeing people face to face as well as providing online help, professional supervision and consultation to govt and non-govt agencies and businesses. Formerly I was with a Govt. Dept. of Health as a Senior Psychologist and Clinical Supervisor (over 25yrs) with a Community Counseling Team. I have worked in Psychiatric Hospitals, Medical Centers as well as lecturing at Universities.

I have expertise in working with problems such as Anxiety, Depression, Addictions, Assertiveness, Self Esteem, Sex Therapy, Trauma, Grief, Phobias, Personality, Motivation, Adjustment disorders, Gambling, Identity Disorder, Relationship problems, Sexual Abuse, Domestic Violence, Parenting, Career/Work/Study issues, Pain Management, Management of Crisis, Aggression and Stress Management. Above all I treat people with dignity and endeavour to do no harm.
