XAppleTech
Hello,
My name is Stephen Herrick
I specialize in technical and non-technical support of Macintosh computer systems. My for-most experience has been in working for Apple Computer as a Technical Support Specialist.
I left Apple due to the extensive commute from where I live. I have had experience with every Macintosh computer system, hardware, and an extensive number of applications. My job was to troubleshoot complex software/hardware problems and be a liaison between customers and the engineering group so as to eliminate bugs and hardware issues. Additionally I provided support maintaining the internal systems and local area network. I was also one of the 2 iMac product Champions, whose responsibility it was to be the information source involving all things iMac. I was also a lead person in providing technical support on Mac OS X, and have been instrumental in helping to develop the training for Mac OS X and am certified as an: Apple Certified Desktop Technician (ACDT).
Prior to working at Apple, I worked for a mail order warehouse that sold re-manufactured Macs and PCs. My position entailed: managing the sales staff, sales, troubleshooting, rebuilding computer systems, designing, and maintaining all web-based and print-based advertising. I wore many hats. The experience I have had has centered on working with people and technology and my interpersonal skills have been well developed as my experience has entailed helping people to make decisions and understand how various technologies work. Some of my more recent experience has been working with Apple customers to solve their complex software issues and diagnose hardware failures. In more difficult cases I have also facilitated hardware repairs. I have a repertoire of analogies I use to help end users better understand how to utilize the capabilities of their particular system or network. The majority of interaction between the end users and myself in my most recent employment has been via telephone.
My prior 12 years of employment consisted of working with people in one-on-one situations. Over the past 8 years, I have amassed a great deal of computer systems knowledge. I am also an avid reader and researcher on topics dealing with the latest up and coming technologies. Given the level of my hands-on technical experience, my ability to learn new technologies, as well as my talent in interacting with people and their complex computer issues, I believe I would be invaluable to anyone with technical support needs.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Stephen C. Herrick
