Publisher is a desktop publishing program you can use to create wide assortment of documents, such as business cards and restaurant menus. Publisher contains hundreds of pre-designed templates you can use as the basis for professional-looking projects. All you have to do is add your own custom touches.
The Microsoft Publisher Catalog contains three tabs--
Publications by Wizard
,
Publications by Design
, and
Blank Publications
. Each is explained below.
Publications by Wizard
:
Wizards are predesigned templates of various types of publications. They provide the framework for the publication, and all you have to do is add your own custom touches. Publisher comes with more than 20 wizards. When you select a wizard from the Wizards list, the available designs for that type of publication are show in the window on the right. Notice that there are diamonds and triangles next to some of the wizards. When you select a wizard with a triangle next to it, a list of subcategories appears. These subcategories represent more specific projects. Wizards with diamonds do not have additional subcategories.
Publications by Design
:
This option lets you create a series of documents (letterheads, business cards, envelopes, etc.) that incorporate the same design. This option also contains design sets that offer specific layouts for special events, holidays, and fundraising.
Blank Publications
: You can use this option to create your own publication form scratch using whatever format, colors and designs you prefer.
Adding a Logo
: If you want to create a new logo for your publication, you simply click on the existing logo. A Logo Creation Wizard icon appears. Click the icon to start the Logo Creation Wizard. Publisher lets you edit the current logo, add a Publisher-created logo, or add a logo of your own.
