There is a vast difference between taking a photo and making one.
Taking a photo is hasty, uninvolved, and tries to capture quickly and automatically without much thought behind the act.
Making a photo requires patience, connection between photographer and subject, and a seemingly surrender to the conditions which are present, yet a mindfulness about how to work with these conditions.
Taking a photo is an instant but making photos involves a committment to learn and grow in one's art.
Prior to depressing the shutter, there is an myriad of things that must come together. Please join Professional Wildlife and Nature photographer, Kristen Westlake, with your questions about making pictures.
To make the most out of your call please write out some questions prior to calling. If you are a beginner you may have some general questions about your camera or what to look for in a camera. If you are more advanced you may have questions about your manual settings of exposure (aperture, shutter speed, ISO). You may also feel free to send photo emails to me for photo comment as we talk.
